This workshop will help you to get a Grip on the following:
- Becoming comfortable and familiar with all the Film Co-op's lights, stands and supplemental lighting materials (and not touching those bare bulbs!)
- Knowing where all the lights, stands are stored in the Film Co-op equipment room
- Checking out locations in advance concerning power needs
- Making confident and informed decisions about power and fuse boards
- Quickly and safely setting up lights and stands
- Understanding the lamps and gels and what is needed for each shot
- Adding, cutting and correcting light quickly at the Director of Photography's request
Including: wedges, flags, tracking, dollies, jip arms, sandbags, extension cords, safety chains, clamps, different reflectors etc.
INSTRUCTOR'S BIOGRAPHY
A native New Zealander, Daniel Greenwood has worked in the film and television industry since 2000. Daniel is experienced in assistant camera work, lighting, grip and sound recording for film and television. He is talented at building sets and recently was DOP on a short film venture film entitled Bathroom Stalled.
