In July 2012, for one week - Monday-Friday, the New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Co-operative is hosting an Advanced Filmmaking Summer Camp for school students (Ages 15-18), taught by Co-op Filmmaker Michel Guitard.

Specialized training on the following equipment:

Sound

Camera

Lighting

Dolly

A one minute trailer for SWFF will be shot using the above equipment.

Camp runs from 8:30am - 4:30pm each day at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre (732 Charlotte Street) and kids should bring a lunch each day although there will be light snacks and liquids on hand.

INSTRUCTOR PROFILE

Michel Guitard is a prolific young filmmaker, cameraman & editor who has worked on over 95 productions through and outside the NB Film Co-op in different crew positions from the age of 10 to 19 years old. He has done many of his own films; one of them, a Short Film Venture film entitled "Simon Hunter", and his most recent short film, End Of The Line .

SPOTLIGHT ON SILVER WAVE FILM FESTIVAL 2012.
Opportunity for youth filmmakers in NB to be involved and attend Silver Wave next year.

Teachers and Students in New Brunswick! Here is your chance to win, win, win and have you and your class or students involved in Silver Wave 2012!

The Silver Wave Film Festival is putting out a call to all classrooms and students in New Brunswick to submit youth videos in French (with English Subtitles) or English, 2 minutes in length in any genre, covering any topic. This contest is open to youth between 8 years and 18 years old.

Students can do: drama, documentary, music video, animation, claymation, experimental or an actual trailer for Silver Wave! If the videos submitted are accepted they will be screened in the Silver Wave 2011 Youth Screening Showcase and the group of youth filmmakers will get a SWFF t-shirt, bag and a special pass to all SWFF workshops and of course the youth screening program at next year's festival as well as any other youth screening events that are appropriate for youth viewing.
