SPOTLIGHT ON RENEWED MEMBERS - BRITANY SPARROW

I can't believe it's been 5 years since I first joined the co-op. Where does the time go? Through that time I have directed 4 films, produced a fifth, acted in a horror film, learned the ins and outs of post production, and worked on more than 20 films. I've dealt with potato men, super heros, Acadians, nerf guns, motor cycles, chiropracters, hidden treasure, love, war, and everything in between. And I'm just getting started.

Currently, I am in post production on my short film, titled Gamers: A Love Story. It's a fantasy/romance/comedy/1980s throwback film about geeks, girls, and dungeons and dragons. It will be hitting festivals near you (hopefully) later this year so keep watching! I am also writing a script for my next film, a drama about a woman who has a midlife crisis as her high school reunion approaches and begins to regret the choices she's made in her life. I hope to go to camera with it later this year.

Last year, I began working with first time filmmakers as a mentor, and discovered that I love it! There's something about taking what you know and helping someone realize their vision. I know when I made my first film, my mentor was invaluable to me, and I am so greatful to him for pushing me and giving me the courage to take the plunge. So if there are any first time filmmakers out there who need an extra push, or someone to work along side them to create their project, let me know. I want to help! And to you veterans, I'm still around to act as AD or Script Supervisor.

2011 is going to be a fantastic year and I can't wait to work with you all again!
