Hey Tony & Cath,
Just a quick note to send warm best wishes for you and the Film Co-op Members to have a great Christmas this year. Perhaps you will spend it with family, or friends or together in Fredericton, but whatever the case, have a good and meaningful time.
Christmas tells again an amazing story that, because it's true, holds significance beyond compare for us all. Purpose, hope and a future, pretty amazing actually.
Thinking of you at this time and remembering good times and hopes for more in the future (whenever that will be).
Best regards

Changes made to New Brunswick Film
Dec, 2009
FREDERICTON (CNB) - Adjustments and additions will be made to New Brunswick Film programs, including centralization of the organization's services in Fredericton. The announcement was made by Wellness, Culture and Sport Minister Hédard Albert.
"In view of the current situation for film producers in the province, we plan to change the New Brunswick film tax credit in order to increase the number of films produced here, which will contribute to the local economy," said Albert. "If we have a long-term tax credit for the film industry, it is very likely that more films will be produced in our province."
The changes will be made to meet the needs of those working in the film industry. They include:
extending the New Brunswick film tax credit for a 10-year period. Previously it was renewed from year-to-year;
adding a regional bonus of 10 per cent to the tax credit for productions filmed mainly in a rural area outside the three urban centres of Moncton, Fredericton, and Saint John; and
increasing the budget of the travel assistance program to facilitate producers' access to film and television markets.
The offices of New Brunswick Film will be located in the Arts Development Branch of the Department of Wellness, Culture and Sport in Fredericton. Service delivery was streamlined to avoid cuts in programs offered.
The department will try to reassign the employees of these offices to positions within the provincial government.

Jessica Holt develops skills on both sides of the camera
Fresh off her outstanding performance as the lead actress in NB Film Co-op member Gia Milani's, A Dark Radius (award-winning short film at the Silver Wave Film Festival - Best NB Short Drama) in which she was nominated for best actress, Holt is now taking on the complete polar opposite to her own personality in a feature film called Plaster Rock.
Holt is in the role of Michelle, a former Miss America, in Plaster Rock, now in production by Global Universal Pictures, being directed by Jackelyn Giroux up on the Tobique.
"Michelle is actually a difficult character for me to play, because as I read the script it was obvious to me that she is a little insecure and doesn't make decisions well," Holt states. "I think life has knocked her around a bit, making her a little uncertain and timid. So with Michelle, I am submissive and frightened a lot, whereas anyone who meets me knows I am the complete opposite...Click here for full article
