This broad-scoped workshop is ideal for emerging filmmakers!
The workshop will cover basic script-writing, budget preparation, pre-production, production and post, with particular attention to directing and producing. What are potential production issues in a script? What should you ask during casting sessions? Should you rehearse? What happens when things go wrong (and they will go wrong)? This workshop is especially useful for those who are interested in writing, producing and directing their own material.
INSTRUCTOR'S BIOGRAPHY
Alumni Film Co-op member filmmaker Tim O'Neill is a past recipient of the Short Film Venture Program for his film Unseen Enemy, and has worked on multiple productions as a key grip and AD. Tim is on the Film Co-op board of directors and is heavily involved in screenwriting and mentorship.
Jeremy Robinson has been working on
independent films in New Brunswick since he graduated
from NBCC Woodstock in 2000. He spent a season at the
International Film and Television Workshops working on
the tech crew and as a teaching assistant. Once
returning to New Brunswick he joined the New Brunswick
Filmmakers' Co-operative where he began volunteering
as a location sound recorder and editor. He honed his
sound, camera, and lighting skills on the set of
approximately 30 films. He has done some commercial
shoots but finds that independent film is the most
rewarding.
He received a New Brunswick Short Film Venture Grant in 2007 for the film Misdirection which he produced, directed and edited.
Currently Jeremy is working on pre-production for the short film "Cold" which he wrote and will be directing.
Jeremy is also a certified teacher who has taught at the elementary, middle, high school and college levels. He now lives in Saint John New Brunswick with his wife Melissa and their cat Oliver.
