MEMBER OF THE MONTH:  Gia Milani

Active Co-op member Gia Milani's second home seems to the NB Film Co-op and Tony and Cat couldn't be happier about it!

Gia Milani has spent her entire life immersed in the arts. She graduated with honours from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design in 1999 from a 3 year graphic design program. In 2000 Gia earned a bachelor of Applied Arts in Fine Craft from the University of New Brunswick.

Since moving back to Fredericton from California in 2002 she has focused her attention singularly to film and television.

She won a Short Film Venture grant from NB Film in 2005 to write, direct and produced her first short film, Bathroom Stalled, which was completed in April 2006. http://www.shoreroadpictures.com/

Milani is secretary / treasurer of the New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Cooperative and founder of NB Reel Women, a group which provides encouragement to women filmmakers in New Brunswick. She is also a workshop instructor through the Co-op's annual film/television workshop program. She lives with her husband Tony Whalen and their daughter Vivi in Fredericton.
