Click here to send Cat the volunteer hours you have put in so far as a member of the Film Co-op! Volunteer time put in before joining does not count. You must join and then start your volunteer hours.
Examples of Film Co-op activities accepted for your required 30 (full) or 20 (associate) volunteer hours. Many of the below volunteer activities can be done no matter where you live in NB.

Crewing and doing post work on productions with other Co-op members in your own city, town or village. (associate members can work on shoots in non-technical roles only as they are not allowed to handle equipment)

Helping to keep the Co-op clean and tidy (Fredericton)

Working on the Silver Wave Film Festival (Fredericton)

Posters and Graphics for Productions

Web Research

Original music scores and songs for member productions

Teaching a production workshop (must have training)

Being in a Co-op ad hoc/advisory group (must be a full member)

Critiquing/Story Editing Member's Scripts (must have specialized training)

Finding much needed donations for the Co-op

Joining and Membership
If you are joining for the first time, please take the below online orientation and arrange a time to talk to Membership Services through email or in person before payment.
If you are creating in film or digital video or are seriously interested in creating in film or digital video, consider joining the New Brunswick Filmmakers' Co-op.
Membership to the New Brunswick Filmmakers' Co-operative is open to any member of the public 16 years and up. The Membership Policy of the NBFC is intended to attract members to the organization who are willing to commit time and energy to the organization in exchange for the commitment of the NBFC towards their individual film/video making endeavors.
The NBFC has two levels of membership, Full Membership
and Associate Membership. Payment may be made by cash,
cheque or money order only.

Associate Membership - Annual Renewal, 2010 - $20.00
OR
Full Membership - Annual Renewal, 2010 - $40.00

FULL MEMBERSHIP
Full Membership is intended for all active members of the NBFC who wish to support the Policies, Aims, Objectives and Mandate of the NBFC and use the facilities of the NBFC to produce their own films and videos.
Full Members in good standing have to put in 30 hours of volunteer time.
The cost of Full Membership is $45 the first time a person joins and then $40 annually.
There is a sliding scale membership fee for all those who join later in the year for the first time.
BENEFITS OF FULL MEMBERSHIP

Receive a copy of the NBFC print newsletters.

Receive regular weekly e-newsletters regarding NBFC, and member activities.

Full acting members will get their headshots profiled on the NBFC website (actor link).

Receive discounts on all NBFC workshops.

Be invited to all socials the NBFC has including the AGM

Vote to elect members to the board of directors at the AGM

Use the NBFC's Facilities for the purpose of making films and videos that have been approved through the NBFC Production Policy or through staff if doing the direct rental route.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
Associate membership is a supporting level
of membership and is open to anyone wishing to support the
Policies, Aims, Objectives and Mandate of the NBFC.
Associate Members in good standing have to put in 20
hours of volunteer time.
The cost of Associate Membership is $20 annually.
There is a sliding scale membership fee
for all those who join later in the year for the
first time.
