Biography: Rebecca Carrigan (also known as authorBecca Blue) is an award-winning indie filmmaker, actress, photographer and multimedia designer with over 25 years of experience in Vancouver’s film industry. Originally from Hamilton, Ontario, Rebecca has trained at the Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts receiving her Diploma in “Acting for Film & Television”, then at Makena Cove Studios for “Voice-over for Animation & Video Games” and at L.A.’s TVI Actors Studio before finishing her education at the Toronto Film School and receiving her diploma in “Graphic Design & Interactive Media”.

She’s written seven books that she’s designed and published on her own and worked as a professional film production coordinator on many television series, video games and feature films for Netflix, Disney, Hallmark, Sony Pictures, and Electronic Arts Canada.
A classically trained pianist with 18 years in the Royal Conservatory, Rebecca often composes original scores for her own films and enjoys how music can affect someone in a scene. She also specializes in headshot photography for actors as she has spent many years on the other end of the casting table and truly understands how important that first impression is when looking to land an audition. Rebecca is passionate about storytelling across various mediums and enjoys helping others break into the industry the smart way
Now based in Fredericton, Rebecca runs Sakura Blue Studios, her own small business offering graphic design, photography, publishing, production services, and industry workshops for emerging talent. She’s excited to connect with fellow East Coast creatives and help grow New Brunswick’s vibrant film community.
