Workshop Instructor: Jack Sellyeh

Workshop description: A career in film is built not only on creativity, but on commitment, follow-through, and trust. In this one-hour Zoom session, filmmaker Jack Sellyeh will offer an inspiring and honest talk about the importance of showing up, doing the work, and becoming someone others can count on. Drawing from his own creative path, Jack will speak to the value of persistence, accountability, and work ethic in a field where collaboration matters deeply. This session will encourage emerging filmmakers to take their goals seriously, build strong professional habits, and recognize that dependability is one of the most powerful tools for creating opportunities and moving forward in film.

Instructor Biography: Jack’s creative lens is currently focused on the eccentricities of the rural Atlantic culture he's integrated himself into. He is developing a scripted comedic crime series that explores the friction between outside authority and the quirky, often-misunderstood inhabitants of small-town New Brunswick. Whether he’s behind the camera for a real estate shoot, tending to his flock, or drafting his next script, Jack's driven by a love for the "rural weird" and the technical craft required to bring it to life. He joins the Co-op to connect with specialists who share his drive to tell larger-scale, scripted stories that are as authentic as they are absurd.
