Filmmaker Errol Williams

It all started when…

Errol Williams was a pioneer filmmaker who was introduced to filmmaking at the NB Film Co-op in the late 1980’s. He produced dramas and documentaries. After his untimely death in 2007, a special award was set up in his honour by his friends past president Chris Campbell and the NB Film Co-op ED, Tony Merzetti.

Deadline: August 1 annually.

Cash award for emerging New Brunswick black and people of colour filmmakers.

Award Composition:

  • $1000 cash from the JL Legacy Fund.

  • $500 value in equipment from NBFC.

Submission Process:

  • Artist Bio.

  • Director’s Vision.

  • 5-10 min formatted script, treatment, or project description.
